2009 Chevrolet Silverado Review

If you want a vehicle that looks great, performs better and offers a ton of flexibility without the outrageous price tag, than the 2009 Chevy Silverado is for you. The Silverado is priced at $27,725 with gas mileage of 17 mpg. The 2009 Chevy Silverado phases in a new six-speed automatic transmission, a bigger V8, an economical XFE model, and a gasoline-electric hybrid.

Options

The 2009 Chevy Silverado gives you the option of choosing from three different cab styles and three different cargo box lengths.  You can also choose from 18′ to 20′ wheels to match the new colors offered for the  Silverado.  If you choose the Silverado with an extended cab or crew cab, you will now notice that you have the option of getting a rearview camera system.  You will be able to customize your 2009 Chevy Silverado so that it is just what you need and not a cookie cutter truck.

Hybrid

The Silverado Hybrid's fuel-saving performance is derived from GM's advanced Electrically Variable Transmission (EVT) and 300-volt nickel-metal hydride Energy Storage System (ESS), which work in concert with the standard V-6. The 2009 Silverado Hybrid is the second full-size hybrid pickup from Chevrolet. With the fuel mileage savings of the hybrid system and Silverado's 26-gallon (98-liter) fuel tank, the Silverado Hybrid has a cruising range of more than 500 miles. Thats enough to drive from San Francisco to San Diego using 100% highway mpg.

Engine

The V-8 engines powering the Silverado models are stronger and more economical than equivalent engines in the Ford F-150 an undeniably strong selling point versus the Ford.  The engine had plenty of power for towing and hauling, and the six-speed helped keep the engine in the best power range.  There are five different engines available for the 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500.

Power

The 2009 Chevy Silverado holds its line well when going down interstates and moves through turns without billowing around.  Power and Associates give the standard Silverado high marks in initial quality and a 9 out of 10 in predicted reliability.  Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Regular Cab Standard Box LT in Sheer Silver Metallic has the power, pull and payload capacity to help you work through the longest days.  The manual mode of the 6 speed transmission saves your brakes and the "tow" mode changes the shift points for better power.  The 2009 Chevy Silverado phases in a new six-speed automatic transmission, a bigger V8, an economical XFE model, and a gasoline-electric hybrid.

All of the new additions to the Chevy Silverado were done with the competition in mind.  One of the newest trucks to be converted into a hybrid system is the 2009 Silverado.  The Silverado is truly a truck that is just as comfortable working hard as playing hard.  The 2009 Chevy Silverado is by every measure a great truck.
